Science Saturday

Science Saturday happens the second Saturday of each month from 1–3 pm at the Discovery Center at Water’s Edge. Classes require advance registration and/or payment. The registration fee helps fund the class materials, which can be taken home, along with fundraising for the Discovery Center.

Coding & Robotics Academy

The Coding and Robotics Academy (CRA) in collaboration with the Discovery Center at Water’s Edge will schedule coding classes several times each year for elementary- and middle-school-aged children.

RoboMasterminds

RoboMasterminds is an after-school, summer, and internship program for students ages 8-18 and college undergraduates that builds age-appropriate technical skills in robotics, programming, and engineering.

Mystery Science Seminars

The 2024 Mystery Science Seminar Series is being hosted by Joe Domanico, who is a 2015 recipient of the STEM Innovator Award, and a Paul Harris Fellow at the Southern Harford Rotary Club. He joins us this year to discuss and demonstrate various topics including phosphorescence, luminescence, the electromagnetic spectrum, sound and light, and the joining of various STEM topics in his passion for COSPLAY.

Technical Talk Tuesdays (TTT) will be a series of free quarterly talks sponsored by the Discovery Center at Waters Edge (DCWE) and the Northeast Maryland Technical Council(NMTC). The purpose is to engage members of the community, especially youth and provide relevant and informative science and technology topics of interest today.

FIRST® LEGO® League

FIRST® LEGO® League guides youth through STEM learning and exploration at an early age. From Discover, to Explore, and then to Challenge, students will understand the basics of STEM and apply their skills in an exciting competition while building habits of learning, confidence, and teamwork skills along the way. Techbrick LEGO® Club

Techbrick LEGO® Club is a community-oriented non-profit providing 1st-12th grade students robotics and engineering learning opportunities through hands-on student-led teams, multiple levels of FIRST competition, and STEM outreach demonstrations. STEAM Explorers

STEAM Explorers is presented by STEAM Quest Mobile STEAM Studio in collaboration with the Discovery Center at Water’s Edge for children aged 1–5. Registration and advance payment is required. You may register for each class individually, or for the series, and there is discount for additional children. The fee includes the class, a STEAM Explorers kit, and helps to fundraise for the Discovery Center. The list below provides all the information needed to register and attend:
