Description
In this interactive workshop, students will learn how to navigate the online world safely and responsibly. The class covers essential topics, including recognizing common online threats and scams—like AI and deepfake technology—and understanding how these may put their information or images at risk. We’ll explore the basics of online safety, such as how to identify suspicious interactions in games or social platforms and create strong, secure passwords. Discussions on cyberbullying will empower students to seek help and support if they encounter online harassment, while our session on social media will reinforce that “what goes online stays online.” Students will also dive into the basics of how networks work through a fun, hands-on activity that shows how information travels across the internet. To put their new skills into action, students will participate in a team coding challenge. This class will equip students with the tools and knowledge to enjoy the internet with confidence and caution.
