Description
Did you ever wonder how measurements and the numbers we use for them work? Why do we write two numbers for 10 and only one for 9? Does a computer count the same way we do? We measure space which is physical using rulers and tape measures. We will now explore measuring space using a new unit of measurement we call the “fig newton”, which you get to eatafter we measure how many it will take to fill the room. Then you will learn how we measure something we can’t see, touch or feel. Finally you will discover the mystery hiding in a circle. You will take measurements of a number of circular objects ranging from a hula hoop to a small bowl to discover a magical truth that has astonished mathematicians for over 2000 years.
