Description:
What does a human heart look like? How does food move through the body? What does the spleen do
Fetal pigs are frequently used to learn about human anatomy because a pig’s organs are similar in position and relative size to human organs. In this session we will discuss the concepts of cells, tissues, organs and organ systems and investigate the gross anatomy of the digestive, cardiovascular, respiratory and excretory systems through modeling and dissection.
Dissection of the internals of a fetal pig and removal of the organs discussed will be conducted by a previous high school biology teacher.
Please note, admission to the Discovery Center is not included in the price of this Science Saturday.
