Description:
What is the difference between dirt and soil? Besides moisture what are the three main things plants need from soil? Why won’t a blueberry bush and a cactus both do well in the same soil? Oligochaeta and Enchytaeidae both live in your garden soil – what are they? What percent of the species of life on earth live in the soil?
This session will address basic facts about the relationship between soil, earth’s life, and specifically plants. Participants will conduct laboratory procedures to test several different samples of soil for conditions that encourage plant growth.
