The Discovery Center at Water’s Edge is excited to announce the addition of field trips and group visits to our facility. Please take a moment and fill out the Reservation Form to the right and someone will be in touch to confirm your reservation, and answer any questions you may have.
Group rates are tailored to a 2-hour visit. Each additional hour is $2 per child (subject to availability). Accompanying adults are $5 each; organizer is free
Payments
No advance deposits are required. All payments are expected on the day of your arrival. Payment options include cash, credit (Visa, MasterCard, or American Express), or a business check made payable to the Discovery Center at Water’s Edge. Organizations intending to use a purchase order or request an invoice must do so at the time of their reservation and not on the day of their visit.
Cancellations
To cancel your scheduled field trip, please contact the DCWE at least seven (7) days prior to your intended visit. Failure to provide at least one-week notice will result in a late cancellation fee, which amounts to either $75 or 25% of the total reservation cost, whichever is greater. Please note that there is no fee for rescheduling due to a school closure or weather-related emergency.
Inclement Weather
A DCWE representative will inform your group point of contact promptly of any closures due to severe weather. Closures will also be posted to our social media accounts.
Things to Know
Students must be accompanied by an adult chaperone; unaccompanied student groups will not be allowed entry. It is mandatory for chaperones to stay with their students throughout the visit. Chaperones bear the responsibility for ensuring that all students in their group behave appropriately. Any groups displaying inappropriate behavior will be requested to leave without a refund.
DCWE provides a free room rental for your group to eat or hold ceremonies onsite. Room rental access occurs after exhibit visitation and planned activities. Advance reservation required.
