How March 14 became Pi Day
We celebrate the mathematical constant pi on March 14 because March 14 can be written 3/14 and the first three numbers of pi are 3.14. Then it goes on forever. The celebration was started in 1988 by Larry Shaw, who worked at the Exploratorium in San Francisco, California. Like the Discovery Center at Water’s Edge, it’s a fun place to learn about science and technology. Watch the video to learn more!
